Happy Birthday Ollie!

Oliver is now 1 year old and just like all moms I have mixed feelings about this. I am happy he is healthy and growing and oh so cute, but my baby boy is growing up. He had a fun little party with Mommy, Daddy and Barley and of course enjoyed the balloons, paper and boxes more then the actual presents.
I think his favorite part was the birthday cake. Oliver hasn't had much sugar in his year of life and this was the first time he indulged himself. Although suprisingly not too messy, there was frosting in the hair and lots of licking of slimey green fingers.
Golly I love this kid! It is crazy to think of life without him. I am given so much in life to be thankful for and Oliver is at the top of my list. Heavenly Father is so gracious to allow me to be the mother of this lovable little guy!

Josh is 30!

Our camera wasn't working back when it was actually Josh's birthday so I couldn't post pictures then, but now it works!Josh had his 30th birthday a few weeks ago and had a lot of fun. We had some friends over from our ward and from Josh's work and had cake and icecream (which was really more like milkshakes on a plate). Our neighbor, Kimberly, is an amazing cake artist and she made the cake...isn't is awesome?!? I think she should go into business.Anyway, we love you Josh! I don't think I could ask for a more amazing husband and father to be apart of our lives. I am getting emotional just thinking about what to type. You teach me so much about how to be a better person simply by the way you live. I hope you know how much we love you

All of Oliver since June?! Well, almost.

Okay, it is the moment you've all been waiting for! This may be the longest entry on this blog, so hold on to your hats!

This is back when we were looking to live in Roosevelt on one of the many house hunting trips. We stoped at a view area to feel the babe because back then he ate every 2 hours.

Here is the house we decided on...The only option we had. We bought it when it was being framed having to clue as to what it would end up looking like.

This is our trip to the Zoo back when we were staying with Grandma Ellis.
A visit from Grandma Ellis...and a new activity center!!! Thanks Grandma!

We also had a visit from the Hongs! It was fun to see them...Ollie and Timmy had a great time...

Repelling with Mommy and Daddy... I just watched

(with Becky waving ba bye to Mommy)

My first Halloween...I had 2 costumes. One for the ward Trunk or Treat and one for Halloween day.

Thanks for visiting my blog!!

Pictures

I just realized that I had these pictures on my email...they are a little old (from may) but thought they are pretty cute.

Long time no blog

Hey everyone, if anyone is still checking, I decided to update you all on where and how we are. We have moved to Roosevelt UT and have not had internet connection (hence the no updates). Josh got a job as a therapist at a therapeutic boarding school called Cedar Ridge Academy. He likes it there a lot and loves being a therapist. Oliver and I stay at home and eat sleep and play :) . Ollie is now 11 months old and is a crawling maniac. He starting walking with the help of furniture (among other helps) before he started crawling and while he still does that, he has decided that crawling is AWESOME! He loves going up the stairs (he learned this fun trick the second day of his new found talent of crawling) and has no interest in walking on his own. He is getting big so fast I can't stand it. It is amazing to see his little mind discover new things. Oliver seems to be constantly teething, but has only 2 teeth to show for it. The two teeth are on the top and in the middle, so he looks like a little rabbit only cuter. He is a lot of fun.

Josh took the camera to work or I would post some pictures. As soon as it gets home I will be sure to post some for all to enjoy Oliver's cute little face and all his many adventures.

My first Mother's Day

It was great having my first mother's day! I love being a mom. Oliver was nice enough to sleep in a whole hour, isn't he sweet?!

Oliver now rolls over whenever we put him on his belly. He stated rolling over about 4 days ago and now does it constantly. He doesn't mind tummy time much anymore. I think he actually likes it sometimes.

The BIGGEST Loser

Ok...so I had idea that I passed on to my family, but thought I would share it with all off you (not knowing how many people actually look at this blog, I could be only writing to those who already know)Anyway, there is a recent study that links Alzheimer's and Dementia, not to mention heart disease etc., to belly fat.  Unfortunately I have accumulated quite a bit of belly jelly and I want to loose it.  However, I need a little friendly competition to motivate me which lead me to the idea of starting my own Biggest Loser game.  Basically it would consist of an entry fee (which I haven't decided on the amount), a commitment to working out at least 30 mins a day and eating healthy.  I am also thinking of adding challenge activities once a week in addition to the 30 mins a day workout.  Everyone participating will weigh themselves once a week and post how much weight they lost.  The person who looses the biggest percentage wins!  The prize will be well worth it...the more entries, the better the prize.

Email me if you are interested (millermali@hotmail.com), there are 6 participants already!  The games begin on May 1, 2008 and will last for 3 months (originally I said 6 months, but I think 3 months might work better).  Feel free to pass this on to anyone interested

4 months

Oliver here hanging out in his bumbo chair.  He had his 4 month check up yesterday.  We got official results from the doctor this time (instead of me just looking it up on some website's percentile calculator)  He weighs 13 lbs 9 oz which puts him in the 25th%...and he is 23" long, which makes him a shorty in the 5th%...actually just below the 5th%.  The doc is not worried though, he is growing with the curve (meaning he was at the 5th% when he was born) but we will keep an eye on it.
He got 3 shots and screamed and screamed at the doctor's, then cried all evening unless he was asleep.  Good news is that it wore him out so much that he went 7 hours between feedings last night.
Ollie is almost constantly moving (unless asleep) and his smiling and cooing all day long.  He is cute as ever!!!

My Brown Eyed Boy

It is official.  Oliver's got mommy's eyes.  Well, at least the color.  His eyes are brown and BIG...at least everyone always comments on how big his eyes are.  It might be because he will open them as wide as possible...just like his daddy does when he is very attentive to something he is looking at.  So I guess Oliver has Mommy's and Daddy's eyes...or maybe just Oliver's eyes?

Another house for sale in Eagle Mountain

Yes it is true...our house if for sale.  We have added it to the hundreds already for sale in Eagle Mountain and are hoping for a quick sale.  ( Good luck, we know).  Anyway, we are moving to Roosevelt for a great new job opportunity for Josh.  He will be working for a therapeutic boarding school called Cedar Ridge Academy.  We are very excited about the job...now we just need to sell our house!!!

Blessing Day

Oliver was blessed by his daddy on March 2.  Oliver was very cute in his blessing outfit (lovingly made by Grandma Ellis) as you can see.  Josh did a great job on the blessing.  It was a great day!
Thanks to all those who came for this special event- We know it is quite a drive so it is that much more appreciated.

2 month check up

Oliver had his 2 month check up yesterday.  He weighed 10 lbs 14 oz and was 21 inches long.  He is still a little guy in the 25th % for length and weight...who knew?!  The doctor said the RSV is getting better and he should be back to normal in a couple days :)  He is still coughing a lot but is much happier then yesterday.
