Best Friends
Things are just great our family right now. Oliver still spits up a lot and we just found out he has RSV, so plenty of rest and relaxation for the little guy.

Visitors

Here is a smattering of some of the lovely folks that came to see Oliver!

We are happy to report that the Hongs were allowed to leave the hospital after proving that Timmy was their baby and not kidnapped.

Life is good

We have been home home for a week now and so far so good. Oliver is a funny little guy...he has 2 different settings happy boy and screaming monkey with no in between. Josh likes to call him "Thor of the tree people" when he is in his monkey mode. His cord fell off at day 4 and he got his first bath which wasn't so bad. He has now officially peed on daddy once, mommy twice and pooped on mommy once....good times. Luckily the poop was mostly on the blanket. Ollie's cheeks are getting a little bit chubbier, which means his love of nursing is paying off.

Barley was very excited to greet little Oliver when he arrived home and was terribly nervous the first night. He has since adjusted and is sure to check on Ollie at least 10 times a day. Oliver does this cute little puppy noise and it is possible Barley might really think he is a puppy.

Thanks to all who paid a visit at the hospital and for all the well wishers by phone and email. We are so happy to finally have Oliver here, we don't even mind the lack of sleep. :)

OLIVER IS HERE!!!!!!

Last night at 9:24 p.m. Oliver was born. He weighs 6 pounds 15 ounces, 19 inches long, and is healthy and responsive.

Malinda was amazing during labor. The nurses were all surprised that it was her first baby because of how relaxed and in control she was. Malinda took no medications or pain killers and had a wonderful natural birth. Oliver was born two hours after arriving at the hospital.

Oliver is nursing great and loves cuddling with everyone he has met so far.

Grandma and Grandpa Ellis were waiting patiently in the lobby and met Oliver soon after the birth. Oliver said he really liked meeting them.

Oliver got to speak to Grandma Beth and Grandpa Gil on the phone. He made cute noises for them and reminded them that he is the only Miller grandchild and expects to be spoiled rotten asap (he knows what he wants!).

Malinda had a huge smile on her face after the birth..... it didn't go away until she fell asleep.

And..the lucky winner of the "guess the date and weight" was... Tracy who made the following prediction-

Tracy S. said...
Oliver is coming soon: I predict Friday, December 7 and he will be 8 pounds and 4 ounces.

Guess the date and weight

It is now time for the date and weight game. It is simple to play...all you have to do it make a comment and guess the day Oliver is going to be born and what he will weigh. His actual due date is Dec. 14, and the midwife guessed that weighs about 7lbs already ( so I wouldn't guess any less then that if I were you...). Malinda is hoping that he decides to show up early...the prelabor is great and all, but it makes her grumpy. Josh is still good to her and doesn't complain too much :)

Oliver's crib and nursery are also awaiting his arrival, hence the pictures. Grandma Ellis made the quilt in the crib and Josh assembled all the furniture. Now we just need the baby to go in it.

Ho Hum, when's he gonna come.

Okay everyone, here is an attempt at blogging by Malinda...we'll see how it goes.
Oliver is still hanging out in mommy's belly all comfy cosy. We are now at 37 1/2 weeks, so he could decide to come at anytime. So, for now it is still just Josh, Malinda, and Barley all awaiting the arrival of the cute baby. Barley loves to sniff all the baby's stuff in the nursery, Josh sings sweet songs and talks to and rubs the belly, Malinda is constantly letting him know how much he is loved and how we can't wait to meet him.
Stay tuned for the most up to date information on little Oliver Miller.
