Oliver and Aunt Megan!!!

Oliver was soooo happy to see Megan. It had been an entire year, and I was pretty happy to see my kid sis' as well. Megan and I have always been best friends and like chillin' together and travelin'. It was a good reminder to hang more often, huh Megster? We'll visit you in Hawaii as soon as we can afford to!

Here are the pictures. Megan was funny, she said 'oh you want the photos to look like we bonded?' And it worked Megarino.

CRAZY or CUTE???

OK so Oliver's hair is so curly and fun but sometimes it looks like this...

TOTALLY CRAZY!!! This picture was taken after a long car ride from SLC where Oliver slept in the car. When this happens to his hair there is nothing I can do to tame it...I guess I could put some gel in it, but who puts gel in their 1 1/2 year old's hair?

A day at the beach

We went to California this last weekend to see Grandma Briskey. She is in her last days and we went to say "Good Bye" Unfortunately we forgot our camera...actually we think we lost it. Anyway we didn't get any pictures with Grandma, but we will love her and miss her.
We were lucky enough to go to the beach and compliments of our beautiful cousin Christy, we got some great pictures. It was raining and cloudy, but Oliver LOVED it anyway.

Bestest Friend

Over the last year and a half Oliver and Barley have bonded. There is not a day that goes by where Oliver isn't hugging, petting, trying to pull out wiskers, or using Barley as a foot stool to get onto the couch. Oliver LOVES his dog. One of the first things he does in the morning is sign and say dog while looking out his bedroom door in search for Barley. Whenever we go "ba-bye" in the car, Oliver is sure to give a wave and say "bye" to Barley.
Barley is now 5 years old (which is about 35 in dog years). He still act like a puppy and is always excited to have friends come visit. And even though our poor dog has to stay home when we go out, and doesn't get to go on as many walks, and doesn't get all the attention and treats that he use to (pre-baby), he is still the best dog in the world and is Oliver's bestest friend.
We love you Barley.
If anyone that has kids, or is planning on having kids is wondering...should I get a dog?...the answer is YES, as long as it is a dog like Barley.

Spring in the Basin

I'll try and remember to post some pictures next time, Ollie is getting a lot bigger. His new favorite activity is looking at the horses from the living room window. He'll get very excited and come and sign 'horse' to us (two fingers in the air beside your head). He continues to wrestle the dog (who is very patient) and runs around the house constantly.
Oliver loves the outdoors. Even if he is screaming and crying he will instantly cheer up if he is able to take a jog down the street.
I'm currently planting a buffalo grass lawn in the front yard for him to play on (it is still dirt around the house).
It's a lot of fun watching the little guy grow up; he makes us laugh on a regular basis!

It's a little cold here.

For a couple of weeks it was -10 degrees every morning on my way to work and made it up to a whopping +5 degrees by the time I went home.
Oliver doesn't seem to mind one bit! His spirits are absolutely undaunted. He has found particular joy in playing peek-a-boo (he likes to actually be under the blanket) and using Barley as a step-stool to get onto things. Oliver can now sign (ASL) the following words- Dog, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle, Grandma, Milk, Food, I want, More, and Big (I'm trying to teach him poop and fart but Malinda does NOT think it is funny at all). Sometimes they all look like the same sign, but its pretty cool when you can tell that he is talking to you.
He laughs a lot and loves bath time.
His favorite toys are cars and trucks (and watching real ones) and bouncy balls. He'll throw the ball and then chase it around the house, laughing the whole time.
Malinda is still playing volleyball and kicks some butt! She'll get 5 or 6 points in a row just on her serve (the other team does a lot of ducking and dodging). Malinda is also on the amateur baby-wrangling circuit. She swept regoinals last week by successfullly changing a diaper in under 4 seconds (about the same time it takes a Dodge Viper to hit 60 miles an hour!).
I'm playing basketball (I learned to play this year) a lot at work and church and also get to do karate three days a week at work.
Mostly though, we like to chill and hang out with eachother. Of course, its too cold to really do much else!
